Pediatric Otolaryngology Associates, Daniel L Wohl, MD

Newly Updated Information:

Please read the entire post.

Our office is open for patient care and we are seeing infants and children for new and scheduled follow-up appointments. Northeast Florida remains in staged recovery and we will continue to monitor COVID-19 infection trends.

Personalized patient care remains balanced with the needs our community. Our practice is maintaining infectious disease prevention steps to keep the office safe and to allow for physical distancing. For your convenience, we will continue to have a telemedicine appointment option available for our patients upon request. We appreciate your ongoing assistance and understanding as we provide patient care through the long plateau phase of the novel coronavirus pandemic. To reach Dr. Wohl when the office is closed, please call the main telephone number and dial ext. "230" to be transferred to his pager.

If you have any uncertainties as to the timing of your child’s appointment for appropriate subspecialty ear, nose, and throat care, please contact us to discuss your concerns and management options.

We are pleased to be able to see new and follow up patients for recurrent middle ear infections, chronic ears disease, hearing loss, refractory upper respiratory inflammatory symptoms, sinusitis, obstructed breathing, pediatric sleep apnea, plus newborn feeding & breathing problems.

We are advising that all parents and patients (over 2 years old) must wear facial covering while in the office, as per executive order, to reduce the potential for unintended community spread of the virus.

  1. New patient appointments are available and remain prioritized for your convenience.
  2. Physical distancing is being maintained in the office.
  3. Elective surgical cases are being scheduled.
  4. Parents are encouraged to evaluate their situation and call if they have questions regarding the timing of their child’s ENT care in order to discuss confirming their appointment, converting to a telemedicine appointment, or whether to be rescheduled at a later date.
  5. If you, or any of your children, have signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or are over 65 years old, we cannot allow you into the office at this time.
  6. Our plans will continue to be assessed and modified to meet the guidelines presented to us by our local, state, and national government healthcare institutions.

Northeast Florida is now within the long plateau phase and we will be continuing to monitor peak patient load as society reopens and people begin to encounter one another with greater regularity. Hospitals are prepared, but we need to continue to closely follow expected maximum ICU capacity. We are dealing with the outbreak of a novel respiratory virus. While we have begun to uncover some of its secrets and vulnerabilities, a true worldwide cure, vaccine, and community herd immunity is still far away. We need to remain mindful for the safety of our society’s vulnerable citizens and to remember that there may still be asymptomatic children and parents who remain unsuspecting carriers. We all benefit by continuing to make good collective decisions.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
